Gardens and outdoor spaces contain large functional elements at ground level that no small stone can cover: pool pump and filter housings (ø 50–70 cm), wide septic tank lids (60–70 cm), large manhole covers, transformer boxes, irrigation manifold clusters, and well assemblies. These objects are too wide for any model in the S-series (maximum coverage ø 49 cm) and require the M-series.

Traditional solutions fall short. Natural stone is visually ideal but weighs 250–400 kg, requires crane delivery, cannot be hollowed to shelter equipment, and costs €1,000–5,000+. Budget plastic covers are lightweight but their painted surfaces fade, crack, and chalk within two to three outdoor seasons — leaving the garden looking worse than before.

The M-02 occupies a position that neither extreme can reach: a lightweight composite stone with ø 73 cm coverage, realistic marble-chip texture, and a compact low-profile body that fits into narrow garden strips, areas near hedges and fences, and compact courtyards where even the larger M-01 would not fit.

The M-02 is a hollow shell with a low-profile asymmetric boulder shape — a peaked center ridge at approximately 23 cm tapering asymmetrically to lower edges (approximately 13 cm on one side, 20 cm on the other). The interior provides a usable coverage diameter of ~73 cm, accommodating standard European 60 cm manhole covers with room to spare.

Installation is immediate. Place the stone directly over the target object on any surface: grass, soil, gravel, paving. No anchoring, no foundation, no tools. Total setup time: <2 minutes. To access the equipment underneath, lift the stone. At 11.50 kg, the M-02 can be handled by one person, though two people make placement easier.

Stability comes from the stone’s own weight and its broad base footprint (89 × 79 cm). The compact form fits into spaces where M-01 (109 × 89 cm) would not.

Seasonal behavior is neutral. The fiberglass composite structure does not absorb water, does not expand or contract meaningfully with temperature changes, and tolerates a continuous operating range from −30 °C to +60 °C. It does not need to be removed, covered, or stored during any season.

Base contact: the stone has a non-sealed base and rests directly on the ground surface. It is not hermetically sealed; natural micro air exchange between the interior cavity and the surrounding environment is possible through the ground contact zone.

Safety and load limitations: supports 100+ kg of static load under normal conditions. Not a load-bearing structure; not designed for impact loads or jumping without prior engineering adaptation. Use in children’s/public zones is possible with a pre-agreed usage scenario and safety coordination.

The M-02 is constructed from a multi-layer fiberglass composite (GFK) — the same class of material used in boat hull construction, chosen for strength-to-weight ratio and long-term weather resistance.

The outer surface is a marble chip and marble powder gelcoat of the ISO/NPG class. Color is not painted, printed, or applied as a film. Natural stone chips and stone dust are mixed directly into the gelcoat compound, so the colour and grain are embedded in the material and age gracefully rather than peeling, flaking, or fading.

Handcrafted production (In Handarbeit gefertigt) — colour and dimensional deviations of 3–5 cm are within normal range. At 1 metre viewing distance, the M-02 is not identifiable as artificial.

Compared with typical alternatives:

Maintenance: clean occasionally with water and a soft brush. No sealing, repainting, or chemical treatment is required.

Decorative landscaping

Place the M-02 as a wide, low stone accent along a garden path, in a flower bed, or near a seating area. The compact body and low profile (23 cm) make it effective in smaller gardens, narrow strips between paths and fences, and areas where a large boulder (M-01) would look disproportionate.

Equipment concealment

Cover a pool pump and filter system (standard filter housings ø 50–70 cm), a large septic tank lid (standard 60 and 70 cm lids), a manhole cover, a transformer box, an irrigation distribution manifold, or a well pump assembly. Equipment remains accessible — lift the stone, service, replace.

Tight-space installations
